Hanoiwood

So I have been incredibly busy due to events that I will soon tell of, so because of this business I will keep this post short in sweet. Awhile back I got to be an extra in a Vietnamese TV show acting as a French shuttle-cock player. Two weeks ago I got a call from one of the people from the TV program saying they would like to make my character into a recurring character. Although, I wasn't sure if I would have time to work at The Gioi and act, I said yes because, well often do you get the chance to act as a French shuttle-cock player on Vietnamese TV?

Therefore, last week I showed up at the Hanoi Medical University where they were filming the new scene. The previous scenes were big ensemble scenes with tons of extras. However, today it was just a scene with me the main actress and two other characters. Although the scene I was in was short, this time I was given lines to say. We did quite a few takes because I had to speak in Vietnamese and get the pronunciation right. I concentrated on trying to both act and say Vietnamese.  I DID NOT concentrate on trying to say Vietnamese with a French accent. That would be too much. In my scene, I tried to flirt with the main character. Apparently, my character might become a possible love interest which would mean more scenes. During a short break, I picked up a guitar that was just a background prop for the scene and began playing one of my songs. The director heard me playing and liked it. He decided to start the scene with the main character walking in on me playing guitar. So if you ever catch "Proud Heart" in July, not only look for my acting debut but also my musical debut on TV.

This last time I did remember to take pictures. I will be posting them soon!

  1. I can now boast that I am the mother of Nathan Morrow, the Amercian actor who plays the French Shuttlecock and guitar player of Vietnamese TV!
Looking forward to seeing the photos of your show.

  2. Several people have asked me what you're going to do next year. Should I tell them you're going to be an actor on Vietnamese TV?

  3. Hmmm... for some reason I the comment that I posted before didn't post. You could tell them that, but it would be a lie. Check the date for "Hanoiwood". Sorry, but I couldn't resist. I will have real pictures posted soon though. :)
